Lasseters Hotel has formally entered into a franchise agreement with IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) to become Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters. This long term agreement sees IHG return to Alice Springs for the first time since 2014 and marks an overall return to the Northern Territory for the hotel chain.

“Lasseters looked for an international operator to further increase Lasseters exposure in the domestic and international marketplace. IHG was an ideal fit for Lasseters and its vision.” said Chief Operating Officer Craig Jervis.

The franchise agreement will see the hotel undergo a 5 million dollar refurbishment which will create an exciting new accommodation offering for visitors to Alice Springs, providing all the key features of Crowne Plaza hotels and resorts worldwide. This follows on from the recently completed 45 million dollar property redevelopment which saw the introduction of a new accommodation section, heated resort pool & spa, Health Club and Day Spa and TALI Restaurant.

“Lasseters Board have shown confidence in the Alice Springs economy. Commitments such as these help the economic development of the Northern Territory and enable us to achieve our growth vision for the future.” said Mr. Jervis.

The hotel is expected to be rebranded Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters by the end of December 2016 with the refurbishment commencing in May of 2017.
